A SUSPECT has been named by police after a stabbing at a Wirral railway station.

Officers were called to Hamilton Square railway station at 3.07pm on Wednesday, May 8 to reports of a stabbing.

Merseyside Police, British Transport Police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service were quickly at the scene.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with injuries.

British Transport Police said that the injuries are not believed to be “life changing or life threatening”.

Thomas Randles, 18, of Old Chester Road, Wirral, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place.

He is due to appear at Wirral Magistrates court today (Friday, May 10).
