A MAN has been arrested after a stabbing at a Wirral railway station.

Officers were called to Hamilton Square railway station at 3.07pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 8) to reports of a stabbing.

Merseyside Police, British Transport Police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service were at the scene.

One person was taken to hospital with injuries.

British Transport Police confirmed to the Globe that the injuries are not believed to be “life changing or life threatening”.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody.
