POLICE have issued a warning to residents in Wirral after reports of “suspicious” cold callers.
Merseyside Police have received reports of four males working in the Moreton area who are offering services including gutter and window cleaning and charging exorbitant amounts often for little or no work.
The workers are reportedly targeting elderly and vulnerable residents.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “Remember if a cold caller or anyone touting for work knocks at your door, don't get into any discussion. Say you are not interested, and close the door.
“If you need work done on your property, ask friends and family for recommendations, or use a council-checked trusted trader.
“If a suspicious caller is on your property, or has just left, dial 999. If it is after the event, call 101.
“Please look after your elderly or vulnerable relatives or neighbours, as these people like to exploit and target them.”
