WE hear a lot of criticism of public services these days, but I would like to say that there is still one service that is top class.

Can I be so bold as to send an open letter to those feral “tourists” who come to Parkgate from Birkenhead, Liverpool and beyond and bombard us with foul language, aggressive behaviour and then leave behind mountains of rubbish strewn everywhere?

By not passing a bylaw banning dogs from certain of the beaches in its care, Wirral Council, especially John Hale as tourism committee chairman, has allowed its residents and visitors to remain innocently liable to nasty diseases.

A grandmother with terminal cancer who faced moving to Scotland to get life-saving drugs free on the NHS has won her battle with health bosses in England to fund the medication that is keeping her alive.
