Road re-opened after van overturns
LAIRD Street in Birkenhead has re-opened to traffic after a van overturned early this morning(Thursday).
The driver of the vehicle, a Leyland Daf insulated van, suffered cuts and bruises during the incident which occured at the junction of Laird Street, Tollemache Road and Hoylake Road near to St James Church at around 6.30am.
The road was closed for more than three hours and traffic diverted along Stanley Road while the van was removed and re-opened at 10.08am.
A police investigation is underway to establish the cause of the incident. Witnesses can contact 777 5730.
