Charlton cup winner deflates Nomads
THE Wallasey Sunday League Youth Division Cup Final was a magnificent affair . . .
It featured two evenly-matched sides - Ellesmere Port and Neston Nomads - who were a credit to the league.
Ellesmere Port took the trophy with a goal scored in the second period of extra-time - a strike that totally deflated the hard-working Nomads.
A man-of-the-match performance by Ellesmere Port captain Andy Charlton was emphasised as he registered the final's only goal, but also playing a starring role was Nomads' Matty Hughes.
Both sides had chances in normal time, but good goalkeeping kept the score blank until Charlton fired home the late cup winner.
