Police are appealing for information about an armed robbery at an off-licence on Pasture Road, Moreton on Wednesday, January 9.
Just before 10pm, a man entered the off-licence armed with what's described as a black handgun and demanded staff hand over money and cigarettes.
He put the items in a white carrier bag and ran off on foot towards Moreton Cross.
No-one was injured during the incident and police are carrying out extensive enquiries, including examining CCTV, in the local area.
The offender is described as white, approximately six foot tall and was wearing a navy blue waterproof jacket, dark jeans and black gloves.
He spoke with a local accent. The man was wearing a balaclava during the robbery, however, it's possible that he removed it either before or after the incident and detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone matching this description in the area around Pasture Road between 9.30pm and 10.30pm that evening.
Any witnesses and anyone with information which may assist the police with their inquiries is asked to contact Wirral CID on 0151 777 2461 or can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
