A TOP ladies tennis coach accused of sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl faced new charges at Liverpool Crown Court today (Friday).

Claire Lyte originally faced just one charge of sexual activity with the school child in October 2005 but she now faces a total of five charges.

Blonde-haired Lyte today denied all five charges of sexual activity which allegedly occurred between May 1 and October 2, 2005 in various locations including the Wirral, Solihull and Bournemouth.

28-year-old Lyte, of Colebrook Croft, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, was further remanded on bail by Liverpool Crown Court to await her trial beginning on October 1.

She was crowned the Lawn Tennis Association Young Coach of the Year in 2001.

A spokesman for the Lawn Tennis Association has confirmed that she is suspended from coaching. "Claire Lyte's coaching licence was suspended when the police investigation began without prejudice as is normal procedure in such matters."
